How to follow your dreams or the basics of goal settings

I strugle with goal setting a lot, it’s not like I don’t have goals, it’s just hard to follow. So I started reading and learning about goal setting and I realized I didn’t find the best motivation and I do goal setting all wrong.

Setting goals and following them are not wichraft, but not easy, there are a few rules that you have to follow. Obviously set the goal, work for it and never give up, but it’s not that simple.

The rules of goal setting

  • Set a measurable goal – like getting a position or achiveing your dream weight
  • Set a date for it – like “I am 45 kg on 2022. 01. 01.” Always write it and say it in present.
  • Divide it to smaller goals – for me to be a Master teacher I have to be Level 2, but befor that I have to be Level 1, so my goal right now is to be Level 1. I like the anime Dr. Stone as a good example for this point.
  • Have a reminder of your goals every day – write it down once or twice a day and/or have pictures about it somewhere you can see it every day. I have a Tesla as the background of my phone.
  • Every day or every week think about what you did to achive your goal and what will you do
Dr. Stone

Last few toughts…

Never give up your dreams, because the only thing that makes you fail is giving up.

If something is not working, don’t change the goal, change the path to it.

What is Bushido and why you should follow it

What is Bushido?

武士道 (Bushidō) means “the way of the warrior”. It is the moral code of the samurai, that controled every aspect of their life. It was born from Neo-Confucianism during the Edo period (1603–1868) end it developed until the 20th century. Bushido has undergone many changes throughout Japanese history, and various Japanese clans interpreted it in their own way. Luckily it was written down a few times, so we can talk about it and it’s general ideas today.

Altough I am a big fan of the Sengoku period, I wont talk about the Atcient and the Sengoku Bushido, I will focus more on the Edo and the Meiji Bushido, because these two are a better fit for the moden world.

Tents of Bushido?

Edo Bushido

  • Sincerity – do not lie, do not be insincere, do not be superficial
  • Responsibility – do not be obsequious
  • Frugality – do not be greedy
  • Politeness – do not be rude, do not slander
  • Modesty – do not be boastful, do not be arrogant
  • Loyalty – do not be unfaithful
  • Harmony – be on good terms with comrades
  • Tranquility – do not be overly concerned with events
  • Compassion – show concern for one another, be compassionate, with a strong sense of duty.

Meiji Bushido

  • Righteousness (義, gi) – be honest, belive in justice
  • Heroic Courage (勇, ) – do not live hiding in a shell, but do not come out blindly, but with intelligence and strength
  • Benevolence, Compassion (仁, jin) – develope power that must be used good and help other at every opportunity or go out your way to find a way to help
  • Respect (礼, rei) – True warriors have no reason to be cruel. They do not need to prove their strength. Warriors are also respected for their dealings with others
  • Honesty (誠, makoto) – speaking and doing are the same action
  • Honour (名誉, meiyo) – Warriors have only one judge of honor and character, and this is themselves.
  • Duty and Loyalty (忠義, chūgi) – Warriors are responsible for everything that they have done or said and all of the consequences that follow. They are loyal and true to all of those in their care.
  • Self-Control (自制, jisei) – in every aspect, like control your greed or anger.

Why I think you should follow it?

When I first read about Bushido, there was an interesting part in the article, that said, Japanese businessmen follow these tents. It got me thinking. I am a teacher and a networker and to be successful in both fields you have to follow these values, but after reading it for the second time I realised for a balanced life I should try to follow these as rules, cause I’ll have better social connections and a better reputation, both as a human being, a teacher and a businesswoman. Of course everyone inerpret these differently, but here is my interpretion:

  • Righteousness (義, gi). Being honest and beliveing in justice will maje anyone a loveable and good leader. It’s all about trust. I can’t say i never lie, because sometimes I have to, but I know honesty will bring me further and make my relationships, any kind, stronger. I’m reading a book about Toyotomi Hidejoshi, one of the unificators of Japan. He was a big historical figure and a great samurai, and he achived a lot with being honest.
  • Heroic Courage (勇, ) is basically to come out of our comfort zone. Without risk there is no gain, but do it with intelligance. Like in investment. You wont have that money avaiable when you invest, and there is a chance you lose money, but you never invest more that you can afford and we usually do research on the thing we want to invest in.
  • Benevolence, Compassion (仁, jin). I once heard that the biggest investment, is helping others. As a teacher, if I work for 20 years and I have 26 kids in my every group, I’ll teach around 180 kids. I will have some impact on 180 person. If I want to make a better world, If I want to live in a better community I have to start with myself, how I act, what I do, what model I give. Like in the song ‘Man in the mirror’ from Michael Jackson or like what was in the movie, Spiderman: No way home: “If you help someone, you help everyone.”
  • Respect (礼, rei). If you want to be respected, you have to give respect. Treat everyone like you want to be treated. I do my job with a lot of respect and others like to work with me, because of that.
  • Honesty (誠, makoto). If I say something, that I do something, than I’ll do it. I will never promise something that I can’t do. Sometimes I do, I’m not perfect, but at least I try. Also I wont ask something, that I wouldn’t do, like I wont say to anyone to don’t eat chocolate ever, because I do eat chocolate. I lead with example. I do what I want others to do.
  • Honour (名誉, meiyo), which means, in my oppinion, that we have to reflect ourselfes and our actions and we are the only judge, so we are the only one we have to satisfie. I read once that we spend most of our time with ourselfes, so we have to be accepted a d satisfied with ourself.
  • Duty and Loyalty (忠義, chūgi) and Responsibility are very important as a leader. As a teacher I’m responsible for every kid in my group, as a networker, I responsible for everyone in my team and my parents said, as a company owner they are responsible for every employee, so you can’t be a leader without responsibility and the more people, means more responsibility.
  • Self-Control (自制, jisei). I see so many people who has a little bit more money, they spend it, or when they have something more speciel treat they eat it imediatly. Like the marshmallow test. If I wait I will have more and better. If I don’t spend my money on something that I don’t need, just want, and I invest it, I can buy more or better of that thing I want. I don’t buy things on full price, I wait for a cupon or a sale. Other way of self control is when I do something that I don’t want to do, but it will be good for me. I have a lots of self-control, but because I have clear goals.

I think if you read the tents again, you will figure out your own interpretation, which will be as good as mine, but I recomend reading them and thinking about them.

Universal makeup🪐

Cosmikology review

About the brand

Cosmikology is one of the brands of My Daily Choice.

It’s a new makeup brand, with unique formulas. It’s healthy, feels comfortable on the skin, suprisingly pigmented and smells really good.

I knew the company before, I’m affiliated with them. I use other brands from them and I’m satisfied with everything i tried so far. So naturally I was hyped when I heard they make something I love, makeup. So the first day it was in preorder, I ordered some products to try out (also I got some discounts, because I bought it in preorder). When it came, I couldn’t wait to try it out. First I tought it won’t be that good, becuse usually if a makeup is healthy it’s not pigmented enough or the coverage not good, but I was suprised. Since then I use it almost every time I wear makeup.

In the future, I plan on trying out more of their mekup products.

Products I bought and tried

Sol eyebrowpencil

Sundown

Aura blush

Mystic

Sol eyeshadow

Why CBD is so popular nowdays?

CBD is verybpopular nowdays and lije many others I tried CBD products and I use them everyday, but before you think I use it only because it’s in trend now, then you’re wrong. I recomend you not to use something, just because it’s in trend. Now I’m gonna share you why I use CBD products.

What is CBD?

CBD is the shorter name for cannabidiol. It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that is found in the hemp/cannabis plant. There are many other cannabinoids, but the most known ones are the CBG, which has great effects too, and the infamous THC which is psychoactive. In medicine and in food suplements CBD is used and sometimes CBG, THC can’t be in them or in a very small amount.

Why we need CBD?

Everyone has something called endocannabinoid system (ECS) and from the name you can get an idea what it can be. In short it is a biological system that is part of the nervous system, which controls your body and suprise, we produce cannabinoids inside our body and to help this system we can consume other cannabinoids, that are close to our owns. One of them is CBD.

CBD is used for medicine and food supplements. As a medicine it is used to cure or help people with epilepsy, and skisofrenia. As a food supplement, everyone can use it, and it can help with

How to choose CBD oil.

There are a lot of laws regulating CBD pruducts. There are countries where it is banned totally and there are countries where cannabis is totally legal. Most of these laws already protect you from some bad oroducts, like they have to write the mg of CBD it contains and not the percent, but there are other things that you have to watch. Like if it broad spectrum or full spectrum, and full soectrum CBD oil is not avaible in my country right now. But the most important thing is to pay attention to is the packaging, because if it’s not in glass bottle it will be useless in a short time, and if the glass not darkened then it will lose it’s power. The other thing is less important, but still important, it’s the origin of the cannabis, because different types of cannabis are found in different places and climates and it determines how much CBD in them.

Products that I use.

Before using it for any problem, do your research on it! I’m not a doctor, nor a therapist. I only speak of my own experiences.

One month (28 days) challenge

I’m a 23 years old woman with a really bad skin type, so I spend a lot of time and money on skincare. At the beggining of the year I got introduced to a new brand and I wanted to try out how effective it is so I designed a routine and I documented my face for a month. I shared pictures everday on my Instagram and short videos on my TikTok and there will be a video about it on my YouTube channel too.

Here is a list of what I used:

Here are the pictures from 1st day to 29th day.

I think these pictures says more than I can with words.

Don’t forget that everyone is different, with the same products and routine you might not get the same result as me!

K-beauty

Although I don’t apply all the rules of the korean skin care rutine I use the basics and I learned a lot from it.

I’m a hobby makeup artist, with my own YouTube channel (AyaCica), but it’s more of an art thing to me than makeing myself pretty. My biggest problemwas my bad skin condition. The first time when I got introduced to the Korean beauty world, was when at my favourite anime convention, MondoCon there was a seminar about the korean skin care rutine. At that time I wasn’t too much interested in korean culture, but I was determined to clear my face, so I went there and I was the creazy one, who took notes.

So there are several types of korean skin care rutines from a 5 steps one to a 14 steps one, but I’ll talk about the most common one the 10 steps skin care rutine.

Steps

  1. Oil face wash
  2. Water-based facial cleanser
  3. Exfoliating
  4. Toner
  5. Essence
  6. Serum/Ampoule
  7. Mask
  8. Eye wrinkle cream
  9. Moisturizing cream
  10. Sunscreen

The first three steps are for cleaning the face. There are these two types of cleanser, because they can wash off different things, so one is for cleaning the makeup, creams and oil based dirt, the second one is for the water based dirt, and the exfoliating is more of a mechanical cleaning.

I use only one cleanser, a 100% natural one which is ph netural and cleans everything, but I have two ways of exfoliating. First I use a face mask that I made from netural ingridients, which contains baking soda, which makes the cream rough a little and I use, rarely a face vacuum too.

After we tortured almost our skin, we have to use a toner to recover our faces ph and a essence, serum to hydrate and help the recovering of the skin.

I don’t use any of these. I use a ph netural cleanser and I already have a oily skin and my face mask that I made contains ingredients for skin recovery.

Face mask are some things that came in many shapes and forms. I use a creamy one every day and a sheet mask once a week. I love my sheet mask. I use a CBD sheet mask, but the thing that helped me to choose this mask was the fact that it was made in Korea, and I think Korea is the best when it comes to skin care. I don’t even use any non-asian sheet masks.

Eye wrinkl creams are not only against eyewrinkles, but also against puffiness and dark circles.

Well this is something that I absolutley don’t use, simply, because I don’t need it.

Hydrating is keeps the skin moist and smooth. From the seminar that i mentioned above, I learned that someones face can be oily because their skin is too dry and your body tries to fix that, and in my culture we tend to dry our skin a lot. This thing helped me to make my face not oily. This thought helped me a lot.

And the last step is sunscreen which protects you from UV. I think it is really importent in the summer, or when he sun is strong. When I was younger the UV wasn’t that bad, so I was able to not use sunscreen, but nowdays it is an essencial product of my summers.

So even if you don’t follow the steps, you can still learn important things about skin care and yourself, like I did with hydrating.

Business in school

I’m a pre-school teacher and a networker also. After few years of working in the business i learned a lot of thing, and now that I’m a teacher and I work as a pre-school teacher, I realized, every teacher should learn some business skills.

When i was still at university learning about teaching, we learnd a lot of things, like the national days, pshcology and crocheting, while we didn’t learn nothing about communication. It is said that school is complete the home education, we teachers work together with the parents. How to work with someone, when you can’t communicate right? Sometimes it is easy to communicate with a parent, mostly when everything is perfect, but when there is a problem, everything turns into a mind game.

Lets use a fictional example. I see that a child show sign that something is not right, with they understanding. I can’t go to the parent and say that something is wrong with your child, you should bring them to a specialist and they can achive a big inprovmemt befor elementary school. If i do this, the parents became defensive, because it’s hard to accept that something is wrong with our child, everyone want’s to see the best in their child. Just like in business, let the other speak and ask questions, because the one asking questions is the one who controls the conversation. Back to the example, i can ask: How you see your child? How they listen to their parents? Was there any problem when they were a baby? Etc. Untill we get to the point that the parent realizes that there is a problem, because then we can offer help. If there is no problem in their mind, then why would they need help. Let’s say I have to sell them the help their child needs in this situation.

This was just one eay of using business in school and just one way of communicating with parents, there could be other types of parents, problems and if I want to be honest, most parent looks down on us and it’s worse for me because I’m young.

The other great way of using business methods is with the kids. The next example is a true story.

Before work I started reading Just Say Next! by John Fuhrman and at the beginning he talks about, how kids don’t give up until they get a yes. At the work place I had a great opportunity to try out the go until you get a yes. One of the three years olds was sitting at the table and shouting: Who wants to play with me? and when noone answerd he started crying. I told him to go up to other kids and ask them personally. He did that. He walked up to one child and asked him to play with him. Well that kid was busy with playing something, so he said no. What the kid who asked him did? Started crying that the other kid said no. Then I told him to ask everyone untill you get a yes, and he started asking everyone one by one and when he got a no, he just went to the next person and at the end he found a yes.

I think this example models business greatly. He went trough the steps of sitting and shouting, which didn’t work, then asking one person, which wasn’t enough, then working for his goal, by going untill the end. It was an eyeopening moment for me. A three years old did it and didn’t quit, so we adults can do it too. But I have to say, without me giving him advice, he would be still crying at the table, and me without meeting with networking and reading books anout it, i would have never give him this advice.

These are things, that I didn’t learn at the university but i use them almost everyday. That’s why I think we need to teach business, networking to teachers.

Gold

While as a color I don’t like it and I rarely wear any gold jewellery, I’m fascinated with it as a investment.

1. About gold

Gold is a noble metal. It is a chemical element with the symbol of Au witch came from it’s latin name Aurum. It is the 79th elemnt of the periodic table. It has a characteristic yellow color, (that i personally don’t like). Gold will melt over 1064,18 °C (1337,33 K; 1947,52 °F) and it’s density on room temperature is 19.30 g/cm3. Even a smaller block of gold is heavy, I know it from experience how heavy can be a goldbar, and in movies they trhow these.

Gold is known for centuries and because it isn’t corrodes, it has a big variety of usage and symbolic meaning.

2. The History of gold

Gold is mined over 6000 years now. It was first used as some kind of money and material for jewellery and decor objects. Gold was so valuable that people killed nations for it (search for El Dorado), they travelled, migrated far for it (the gold rush in the 19th century).

Gold has a crazy amount of legends, stories, traditions and sayings around it. If someone is great at something they are gold, if someone is first they got a gold medal, if we find a good source we call it a goldmine and i can go on. Some of these come from stories, like everything they touch will turn to gold and Midas did that literally.

Gold is repesented in many tradition (gold crown, gold robe) and in religions (glorias, one of the gifts from the wise kings, golden apple in the greek mithology).

So gold not only hold a great value in a financial and material way, but also in a mire spiritual way too.

3. The useage of gold

Gold has several eays of usage from decor trough money makeing to electronics.

First it was used to make jewellery and highly valuable objects, like plates. Then it had more usage in funerals, gold coffin and sarcophagus. Then gold became a currency and now it’s alloys are mostly used in making money and some king of jewellery. As i said earlier i don’t like gold to wear, but even I have some gold jewellery, because it is tradition here to give a piece of gold jewellery to a newborn girl, so when i was born a I got a gold necklace from my great-grandmother.

Gold nowdays, because of it’s great properties, is used in chemistry and making circuits and also used in medicine.

4. Gold as investment

So gold is well known for ages, rare, has great properties and several usage. I think we know why it is valuable, but it holds the biggest value, when it is the cleanest. This is how we get to the investment gold. Investment gold is the cleanest gold and it’s purpose to use as an investment.

Why is it a great investment? It isn’t easy to mine, it’s valuable and it’s durable so it is perfect for a long term investment and untill they don’t find a better and more efficent way of mining or producing fine gold it’s price will go up in the long run. It said to be a good idea to put a part of your wealth into gold.

How to get investment gold and how to keep it? You can buy it in different ways, but in my opinion the best way is to buy the actual gold, and keep it in a safe. One of the best and most efiicent way is to rent a safe, but you can buy one too, but it propable won’t be as controled and protected then in an institute specialized in this task.

At the and I’m not a big fan of gold in a fashion way, but I’m interested in it as an investment, and i think it is a great way of building and protecting ones wealth.

I’m not a professional, I don’t have any qualification in this field, I don’t give any investment or financial advice. If you are interested in investing in gold, do your research and consult with a professional!

How to be organized?

I’ll be honest, I don’t know. I will only tell what I tried, what I do and how does it worked for me.

1. Why you want to be organized?

First of all you need to know why you want to be organized. It is better to do nothing, that doing something without a clear goal, and it is true to other aspects in life. You can’t start cooking by getting the ingridients and preparing them, without checking the recipe first, what you want to make and what you need for it. You should write it down your goal and what you’ll need to achive it, cause after that you can make a game plan.

One of my problems of getting organized is a clear and strong goal. I don’t have a good goal, because I’m not motivated enough to achive it, but once I find my motivation, I can do anything. For example, when i was a child, I only got pocket money, or I cloud only go to a convention if my room was organized and it was a huge motivation for me back then, so I organized my room in the speed of light.

2. What you want to organize?

I was thinking about making this the first point, but then I realized it is indeed the second point. I will know what I need to organize, if I know what will be my purpose. Another example: I had little space in my gardrobe and it was hard to find some pices, so I decided to reorganize. My goal was to put away the pieces I use rarerly, declutter the old and useless things, and put my clothes in a order. After that i started reorganizing. I had my horse riding pants in the front, when i wasn’t doing horse riding for a year at that time, so I put the in the back.

Also it is important to know what you want to organize, because I do not organize herbs, books and my schedule the same way. After we know clearly these two points, we can start to make a game plan.

3. How to organize?

We know why and what we need to do, now it’s time to brake down it to smaller steps. Let’s make a to do list. You will think it trough what will have to do to achive your goal. A to do list is also good, because it makes your progress more visible, and as i learned today from Randy Gage: Risky is the New Safe, seeing your progress keeps you motivated longer, also it’s satisfing to put a checkmark after somethig on your to do list.

We have a to do list? Great! Before you start working, make a priority order, what is the most urgent or what is that you need to do, because it’s a precondition to a other elemnt in your list.

After you have that too, congratulation, you can start working and belive me work or life will be easier and more relaxed this way.

If you are a pro, you should set a deadline to each element too.

4. Find the best way and tools for yourself!

Lastly just a tip. I like to write down things by hand and use colorful pencils and pens and it can be time consuming, but this helpes me really think it over. There are times when I use my iPad and when I want to be really determined I post my to do list.

You should try and try until you find the best way for yourself and then stick with it.

A great herb, that we try to get rid of, the Common Dandelion

Every year the gardens and the meadow turns into a beautiful yellow color. The Common Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) it’s a widely known flower. It is great for making flower crowning, how much fun is to blow the seeds and how hard is to get rid of it from our garden. Maybe some people know that it’s a herb, but not to many of them care about this fact.

Common Dandelion

A few years ago, i started to pay more attention to this plant. It’s all started with a book, that used to be my great-grandmother’s. It’s Maria Treben: Health from God’s garden. Altough I’m not religious, I strongly belive in the power of nature.

This little, but powerful plant, has so many beneficial effects.

  • Liver disease
  • Diabetes
  • Psoriasis
  • Pimples
  • Gastric cleansing
  • Tiredness
  • Rheumatism
  • Etc.

It blooms from April to May. All parts of the plant is edable and healty. You can eat it in a salad, you can make syrup from it and you can make tea from it. I tried all of these ways. I ate it raw, and for my taste it wasn’t delicious, I made syrup, wich was great and perfect for my tea, I made tea from it, after i picked and washed some, but i wasn’t too brave i blended it with other tea, and as you can see from the pictures i dried it’s leaves, flowers and roots, and put them in glass jars for later use.

And to end it, here is a story why the common dandelion looks like this:

It is said that once a fairy asked all the flowers, how they want to look like. The common dandelion was the only one who couldn’t answer, so it got a day to think about it. The next they the dandelion said: I want to look like the sun, the moon and the stars on the sky. that is why the flower is round and yellow, when it bloomed it is a silver ball and when you blow it, the little seeds are like stars in the sky.

Before using it for any problem, do your research on it! Too much or the wrong way of using it could cause problems. I’m not a doctor, nor a therapist.
